Freedom Buildings is proud to have such a talented team of hoop building experts.
Matt Friedman - Owner
Matt was born and raised in Belle Plaine. He spent his childhood helping his dad build fabric buildings and is very knowledgeable in the building industry.
Matt and Justin started Freedom Buildings in 2018 and have grown the business into the success it is today. He and his wife, Michelle, live in Belle Plaine, with their three kids: Haddie, Jude, and Anna Kate. Matt enjoys ice fishing, smoking meat, and camping with his family.
Justin Adams – Owner
Justin began his career at Friedman Buildings in 2009. Prior to that, he sold insurance through Farm Bureau. Justin and Matt were able to purchase Friedman Buildings from the original owners, Dan and Monica, and form Freedom Buildings in 2018.
Justin is originally from Washington, Iowa, and attended the University of Iowa where he studied Finance. He lives in Belle Plaine with his wife, Taylor, and two daughters, Lana and Sadie. Justin enjoys a good bourbon, golfing, and The Office.
Tom Knebel - Sales
Tom joined the sales team at Freedom Buildings in 2018. Prior to Freedom Buildings, Tom was responsible for both sales and finance operations at several companies.
Tom attended Wartburg College and majored in Marketing Management. He and his wife, Lisa, live in Iowa City, and have three children. Tom enjoys traveling, camping, baseball, golf, and all things Iowa Hawkeyes.
Ty Goldsberry – Sales
Ty joined the team in 2021. He was born and raised in Solon, Iowa, but now lives in Ely.
Ty is a proud father to three adult children and grandfather to two. Before joining Freedom Buildings, Ty spent 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry in both manufacturing and sales roles. He enjoys traveling, spending time with his family and friends, and Hawkeye sports.
Taylor Adams – Office Manager
Taylor joined Freedom Buildings in 2019. Prior to Freedom Buildings, she was the Director of Patient Accounts & IT Services at OBGYN Associates.
She graduated from Upper Iowa University, where she majored in Health Services Administration. She lives in Belle Plaine with her husband and two daughters. On the weekends, you can find her doing the laundry she put off all week, drinking a lot of Diet Coke, and telling bad jokes at the wrong times.
Trevor Roster – Foreman
Trevor has been with Freedom Buildings since inception. He has over 20 years construction experience and originally started as a building installer with Friedman Buildings.
Trevor and his wife, Whitney, have been married 16 years and have four children, ages 14, 12, 9, and 1. He likes to work hard and play hard. He enjoys a challenge and wants the job done right. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, camping, kayaking, riding motorcycles, fast cars, off-roading, and watching his kids play sports.
Cory Mitchell – Yard Manager
Cory joined Freedom Buildings in 2019. Prior to Freedom Buildings, he was a Proto Tech at Kinze Manufacturing. He is a volunteer firefighter for the Belle Plaine Fire Department.
Cory and his wife, Morgan, live in Belle Plaine with their daughters, Harper, and Kayleigh. Cory believes Busch Light should count as water, Morgan Wallen cannot make a bad song, and yellow M&Ms taste the best.
BEN KNIPP – BUILDING INSTALLER
Ben joined Freedom Buildings in 2020. He and his fiancé, Danielle, live in Elberon, Iowa.

But not gettin’ caught in the rain.
I’m not into eating healthy,
I am into Busch Light.
I’ve got to meet you by tomorrow noon,
And cut through all this bs,
At a bar called The Office,
Where we’ll drink all night.”
CRAIG ROSTER – BUILDING INSTALLER
Craig has been with Freedom Buildings since they formed. He has been a fabric building installer for 6 years, formerly with Friedman Buildings.
Craig lives in Colfax with his wife, Penny. Together, they have 7 grandchildren. In his spare time (which he does not have), he enjoys spending time with family.
Triston Luncsford – Building Installer
Triston has been with Freedom Buildings for 2 years. A jack of all trades, I’ve been in the construction industry for 10 years. I live in Belle Plaine with my fiancé, Sadie, and our baby girl, Breya.
When I’m not hard at work, I like to go fishing, hunting, kayaking, and enjoy off-road powersports, and going fast. P.S. – Budweiser is better than Busch Light
Bob Rusbult – DRIVER
Bob grew up on a farm near Williamsburg, Iowa. He worked at Whirlpool in the Amanas for 42 years before retiring in 2016.
He loves fishing and golfing, which is where he met Justin and Matt. Bob has been with Freedom Buildings since 2020.
